When a tag is scanned, your approximate location is shared with the pet’s owner to help reunite them.

We also store an identifier on this device so the tag cannot be abused. Location is never required — the scan is recorded either way.

Activate your Ask A Vet pet tag

Link this tag to your pet’s profile — anyone who finds them can scan it with any phone camera and reach you in seconds.

Until a tag is activated it holds no details at all, so a finder who scans it cannot reach anyone. Activation happens in the Ask A Vet app, and you choose what a finder sees — you can change it at any time without replacing the tag.

Download the app
Get the Ask A Vet app from the App Store or Google Play and sign in.
Create your pet’s profile
Add your pet, then the contact details you want a finder to be able to see.
Scan the tag in the app
Choose Activate QR tag, point the camera at the code on the tag, and link it to your pet.
