Attach the ID Tag to your pet’s collar, then set up their profile in the Ask A Vet app. Add their photo, your contact details, medical alerts, allergies, and anything else a finder should know.
2. A finder scans the tag
If your pet is found, anyone can scan the QR code with their phone. NFC-compatible phones can simply tap the tag. No Ask A Vet account or app is required for the finder.

Do I need a tracker or ID tag to use Ask A Vet?
No. You can use the app’s care features without either device. Tags and trackers are optional purchases.
Which pets can use the health features?
Medication, weight and urination logging are available for dogs and cats. The article library covers a wider range of animals.
How do video consultations work?
Choose a vet, appointment time and a 15- or 30-minute video or audio call. Calls take place through Google Meet and are automatically recorded. You pay per call, with discounted rates for Premium members.
Can my family use my plan?
Family members can join for free. Access follows your plan and the permissions you give them. Shared AI and vet-chat access uses the owner’s allowance; joining does not create an additional allowance.
What happens to my documents if Premium ends?
Previously saved documents remain viewable. Uploading, editing and generating AI summaries require Premium.
Can Ask A Vet help in an emergency?
For emergencies, seek immediate in-person veterinary care. AI guidance, chat and booked calls cannot replace emergency treatment.
