Ask A Vet was created by Dr. Duncan Houston, an emergency vet who’s seen it all and wanted better—for pets, for people, and for the profession. Built from real experience, Ask A Vet makes expert care simple, smart, and always within reach.
I graduated from the University of Sydney in 2017, and since then, I’ve worked across every corner of the veterinary world—from mobile house calls and rural farms to some of the largest specialist hospitals in Australia and Hong Kong. My work has spanned emergency medicine, exotics, production animals, and general practice. No matter the role, one thing has stayed the same: my commitment to giving animals the care they deserve.
Ask A Vet began during one of the hardest chapters of my life. After undergoing major surgery, I was bedridden for nearly eight months. I couldn’t practice, but I could think. I could design. And so, the idea for a smarter, more connected animal care system began. One where pet owners and vets collaborate with better tools, earlier insights, and real-time support.
