Run both hands over the ribs. You want to feel them like the bones on the back of your hand, without pushing in. Adjust food up or down to keep it there. This beats any number.
This calculator is a starting estimate for healthy, growing puppies and kittens. Breed and sex values are approximate adult references, not guaranteed growth targets. Every pet is an individual, so use body condition to fine-tune and check with your vet if your pet is not thriving.
