Animal Pregnancy & Due Date Calculator

Pick the species, enter one date, and get an estimated birth date plus a full pregnancy timeline. Covers dogs, cats, small pets and farm animals — each with its own gestation period and milestones.

Patient

Which animal is expecting?

Each species carries its own gestation length, its own dating methods and its own milestone list.

Dating

Which date do you have?

Dogs can be dated four ways, so the method is a choice; every other species has a single method, already filled in for you. The method decides the window the estimate is built from.

Use the date that matches the measurement method selected beside it.
Result

Estimated date and timeline

The estimate, the likely window and every milestone, counted from estimated conception.

Your estimate will appear here

Pick the species and the reference date, then press Calculate due date. The estimate, its window and the milestone timeline recalculate after any change.

This calculator provides an estimate for guidance only. Gestation length varies between individuals, breeds, litter sizes and measurement methods. It does not replace pregnancy confirmation, examination or advice from your veterinarian.

How this tool works

How the due date estimate works

The calculator takes one reference date and the way that date was measured, then applies the figures stored for the species you picked: the estimated number of days to birth, the earliest and latest days of the range, and the offset that places estimated conception.

Everything else on the result is counted from that estimated conception date — the days-along number, the progress bar and every entry in the milestone timeline.

Which date should I enter?

Enter the date the selected method asks for — for most species that is the mating, covering or breeding date. The list of methods changes with the species you choose: only dogs have more than one, and each method carries its own note under the field.

Why is a window shown as well as a single date?

Each measurement method has a minimum and a maximum number of days. The window is those two dates; the headline date is the method's own estimate between them.

Which animals are covered?

Dogs and cats; the small pets rabbit, guinea pig and ferret; and the farm and large animals horse, donkey, cow, sheep, goat, pig, alpaca and llama.
