Vets in the same app
With Premium you get unlimited AI Vet chat, 2 certified vet chats a month and discounted telehealth video calls, in the app that holds your pet’s tracker data. Life360’s Pet GPS pages do not list vet chat or telehealth.
Two GPS trackers with their own mobile connection: one in a family location app, one in a pet health app.
Both are GPS trackers with their own mobile connection, both need a subscription, and both alert you when your pet leaves a safe zone. Life360 Pet GPS puts your pet on the same map as your family and adds its Pet Finder Network, so it suits households already on Life360. The Ask A Vet GPS Tracker is built around your pet’s health: vets in the same app (with Premium), sleep tracking, bark counting, temperature alerts, training sounds, a touchscreen and a QR pet ID. It also works in more countries.
Ask A Vet GPS Tracker figures come from our product page. Life360 figures are quoted from Life360’s own pages. “Not listed” means Life360’s pages do not mention it.

The Ask A Vet GPS Tracker tracks steps, calories, activity and sleep, counts barking and alerts you to temperature. Life360’s pages list daily activity logs, Zoomies alerts and a weekly roundup of distance travelled.
When a friend, sitter or family member takes the leash, alerts like a medication reminder or leaving a safe zone pop up on the collar, so the information travels with your pet instead of staying on a phone. It also shows daily stats at a glance, from steps to sleep. Life360’s pages do not list a screen on Pet GPS.
Play a clicker, whistle or Come Back tone on the collar from the app, add your own short sounds such as your voice, and pick any colour for the light. Life360 lists a light and a sound you trigger to find your pet nearby.
A finder scans the Ask A Vet GPS Tracker’s built-in QR pet ID with a phone camera, no app needed, and Lost mode alerts you when it is scanned. With Life360, the QR tag a finder scans is a separate product, the Life360 Pet Tag.
Life360 states Pet GPS is only available to members in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. The Ask A Vet GPS Tracker works in 46 countries, so check yours on the tracker page.
You want people and pets on one map
Life360 shows your pet’s real-time location on the same map as your family, and its Silver membership includes safety features for the people in your Circle, such as Crash Detection and SOS Help Alerts. The Ask A Vet GPS Tracker shares your pet with family on both plans, but it tracks pets, not people.
You want neighbours to help search
Life360’s Pet Finder Network sends your Lost Pet Alert, with your pet’s photo, to certain Life360 members within 3 miles. The Ask A Vet GPS Tracker relies on its QR pet ID and Lost mode instead.
Your family already uses Life360
Pet GPS adds your pet to the Life360 app you already use, with no separate pet app, and Life360 states existing paid members are not charged for a second membership. The Ask A Vet GPS Tracker needs the Ask A Vet app and Ask A Vet’s Tracker Plan or Premium.
If vets in the same app, sleep tracking, bark counting and temperature alerts, or a screen that shows alerts to whoever has the leash matter more to you, the Ask A Vet GPS Tracker is the better fit.

Yes. Life360 states Pet GPS requires a Silver membership, with the first year included for new and free members, and that existing paid members are not charged for a second one. The Ask A Vet GPS Tracker needs Ask A Vet’s Tracker Plan or Premium. Ask A Vet Premium also includes vet chat and discounted telehealth video calls.
We found no vet chat or telehealth on Life360’s Pet GPS pages. Its pet features centre on location, escape alerts, the Pet Finder Network and shared care routines. With Ask A Vet Premium, the AI Vet and certified vets are in the same app as your tracker.

Life360 shows your pet on the same map as your family and alerts the whole family when your pet crosses a geofence around home. The Ask A Vet GPS Tracker has family sharing on both plans, so your household can follow your pet in the Ask A Vet app.
Life360 states that when you report your pet lost, your Lost Pet Alert reaches certain Life360 members within 3 miles, with your pet’s photo and last known location. The Ask A Vet GPS Tracker takes a different route: a finder scans its built-in QR pet ID with no app, and Lost mode alerts you when it is scanned.
Pets don’t always head out with the person who has the app. When a friend, sitter or family member takes the leash, the screen shows them important alerts directly: a medication reminder, leaving a safe zone, a temperature warning or a lost-pet alert, with a chime. The screen also shows daily stats at a glance, from steps to sleep. Life360’s pages do not list a screen on Pet GPS.
The Ask A Vet GPS Tracker has a built-in QR pet ID: a finder scans it with a phone camera, no app needed, and Lost mode alerts you when it is scanned. Life360 sells its scan-to-contact tag separately, as the Life360 Pet Tag, which any phone can scan with no app. Either way, keep your pet microchipped and wearing an ID tag.
Set up the Ask A Vet GPS Tracker in the Ask A Vet app: it pairs over Bluetooth, then you add your pet and choose a plan. Your Life360 Places and pet history do not move across, so draw your safe zones again. Your Life360 membership also covers the people in your Circle, so check what it includes before you cancel it with Life360.
