0:13 Look, what I've got at the moment is the Ask A Vet GPS tracker. This is my pride and joy, along with the app. Obviously the app is my pride and joy as well. These are what links to the app. I do have the ID tags as well, but anyway, these are the GPS trackers, and it's not just GPS, they do have much, much more.
0:26 It's in white or black, very simple, very basic colours, but timeless. So I do have a little gold strip that goes down the middle of them because I think it looks nice, and I've just made them as a basic rectangle, you know, they kind of fit on everything.
0:42 This is 68 grams. I don't know what that is in ounces, sorry America. These are 68 grams, they're very light. I would use these on animals above 4 kilos or 10 pounds. That would be the minimum that I would put these on.
0:57 These are IP67 waterproof, so they can go down to one metre for 30 minutes. It's not like they're going to be doing that, it's more splash resistance that I'm looking for, because obviously if you have a dog, not really a cat, but if you have a dog that's going to run around and play and swim and things, it needs to be some level of waterproofness.
1:12 These also have an external temperature monitor on them. It's hot outside, you're going to get warnings on your phone. It'll also have the warning on the screen here. So that's the next thing.
1:25 Why did I put a screen on this? Look, I'm trying to make this just like your smart watch. I prefer to have the screen for the animal because your animal might go with someone else. Your smart watch won't. Your smart watch will stick with you, so you have that choice. But if I'm letting my dogs go out for a walk with another family member, friends, you know, anybody, they may not have the app. You can have family sharing, but they may not have the app and they won't get the warnings.
1:47 So if your dog goes out and it's too hot for them, you set like a limit at 30 degrees Celsius for when they go out. This is going to give a warning to whoever's walking the dog. It'll buzz and vibrate, and then it says too hot for walking, you know, it's above 30 degrees. Like, be careful, go in the shade, make sure there's water, things like that. That's what you're meant to do. It will just warn you to say that the temperature is too hot.
2:09 You will also get other warnings on this for like when medications are due. So if you've got your app that, you know, you've set multiple different health things on (I've got 20 different things, I'm probably going to add some more), so, you know, seizure activity, blood glucose, vomiting, diarrhoea, things like that you can track, but this will give you warnings for when medications are due.
2:31 So say that your animal is diabetic but they're staying with your parents, and you forgot to tell them what time the medications are due and how much. Obviously it doesn't tell you how much, but then mum and dad will know to contact you: "Hey, it says that the insulin is due for Jeffrey at the moment." And then they'll be like, "Oh, I'll message them." "Oh, sorry, I forgot to tell you. Jeffrey's insulin is four units. He needs it at 8 PM." "Okay, cool."
2:56 But that's kind of the reason why I made these things, because your pet kind of needs a voice for themselves. These are here to make sure that your animal has a voice for their medical needs as well, and that's why I've put the screen on here.
3:07 You can also see the up-to-date details. So you can see their calories, step count, GPS, how far they've tracked, sleeping. This has a motion sensor in there as well, and, like obviously everybody's saying at the moment, it works with AI. I do work with AI to be able to track all your dog and cat's things.
3:24 And then the vet can see them. When you talk to a vet, they can log in and see your pet's details when you have one of these. So if you need to talk to a vet, like Ask A Vet, you can use one of these trackers, and then you also log all their data, so medications and things. And then the vet that's on the other side of the screen, they can see everything and then talk to you properly about what's going on, and see the history and go through it in depth.
3:46 You don't have to tell me stuff. I can see the data there as well as your pet's history, what's going through. I can see it all, so that I know when I talk to you. You don't have to run me through everything, which a lot of the time people forget stuff. So when you're going through things, you're like, "Oh, I should have asked that question. I didn't know about this." Whereas I can see all the data.
4:04 Safety. Look, this is also really good because they have LED lights on the top and the bottom, and you get to choose the colour. That's right. It's not just a white LED light that's real boring. You can be pink one night and then green the other, or you can have it change colours as your dog goes for a walk, like a rainbow.
4:21 Now let's talk about battery life. Look, this can last generally, on normal average use, two weeks. It can potentially last up to 30 days on low power mode and using it on and off. But if you're going to use it heaps, it will last a few days up to seven days. That's how I use mine anyway.
4:37 It will work all around the world. There are some countries that won't be able to use this. Unfortunately, on the website it will say that we can't sell to that country, or there'll be a block and you won't be able to see this product in specific countries. That's just because of the mobile network system it uses. Unfortunately, not everybody in the world uses the same network system.
5:00 This is only a tiny tracker. It's only slightly bigger than my microphone. It is waterproof, it lasts about two weeks for battery life, has a touch screen so you can see all the vital information, has lights for safety.
5:09 It also has bark training in here, so you'll also be able to train your dog with this. So look, if your dog barks when using this, it will vibrate or make a ping noise to try and deter them from barking, if you want that feature on.
5:26 There is the other feature where it has a geo-specific fence. So around your property, you can set up a fence on a GPS map, and then when they get close to the perimeter, it will warn you when they are there, or it will make a noise to deter them from going any further and try and get them to come back home.
5:39 We will have training features on this as well. So you'll be able to train your dog and play specific sounds with this. It's right near their ear and they can hear it, so when you're training them, they can hear it straight away and then know what's going on. Rather than you standing there with clickers and things like that, you've got everything in your phone and in the device. So I will teach you how to train your dog properly through the app, through the device, so that everybody's happy and everybody knows what's going on.

Do I need a subscription, and what does it cost?
Yes. Live tracking and the advanced tracker features require a Tracker Plan or Premium. Current prices and billing periods are shown in the plan comparison above and before you check out.
Will it work where I live or travel?
The tracker needs GPS reception and mobile coverage where your pet is. It connects over LTE-M or NB-IoT through our partner networks — use “Check if it works in your country” at the top of this page to see whether your country is supported.
Does my phone need to stay near my pet?
No. The tracker uses its own mobile connection to send updates, so your phone does not need to stay beside your pet when the tracker has the required reception and coverage. Bluetooth is used for nearby connection and finding controls.
How often does the location update?
Normal tracking checks in on a schedule; LIVE tracking uses more frequent updates and more battery. Updates and accuracy depend on GPS reception, mobile coverage and tracking mode.
What happens when GPS or mobile reception is weak?
The app shows the last reported location along with location status and accuracy information, and continues updating when the tracker has reception again.
Will it help me find my dog or cat if they go missing?
It can help you look. Open the map in the Ask A Vet app to see your pet’s reported location, and switch to LIVE tracking for frequent updates and a trail showing their movement during the session. When they’re close by but hard to spot, use Bluetooth radar, light up their collar or play a sound. Anyone who finds your pet can scan the tracker’s built-in QR ID, with no app, to see your chosen contact details, and lost mode turns on scan alerts and tells the family. Updates and accuracy depend on GPS reception, mobile coverage and tracking mode.
Can I set up a geofence or safe zone?
Yes. Safe zones are the tracker’s geofences: set safe zones and no-go zones in the Ask A Vet app, and you’re notified when the tracker detects your pet leaving a safe zone or entering a no-go zone. Zones send you alerts; they don’t physically contain your pet.
Is it suitable for my pet and collar?
The tracker is for cats and dogs over 4 kg and attaches to a suitable collar with the included silicone strap.
Is this a GPS dog collar?
No. The Ask A Vet GPS Tracker isn’t a collar: it straps onto your pet’s everyday collar with the included silicone strap, so it works as a dog tracker or a cat tracker for pets over 4 kg. Two straps come in the box; the collar itself isn’t included.
How long does the battery last, and how do I charge it?
The battery lasts up to 2 weeks. Recharge with USB-C and check battery status in the app; a power-saving zone at home helps reduce charging frequency. Battery life varies with tracking mode, reception and settings.
Can it get wet?
The tracker is water resistant (IPX7), so everyday splashes, rain and muddy adventures are fine.
Can my family track the same pet?
Yes — you can give the people who help care for your pet access to location and history. Access depends on the owner’s plan and permissions; battery and temperature notifications remain owner-only.
Do I need a tracker for each pet I want to follow at the same time?
Yes, each pet wears their own tracker. Plans include tracker slots — one on Tracker Plan, two on Premium — and extra slots are a paid add-on. Slots are service allowances; hardware is purchased separately.
What do the activity and sleep insights tell me?
The tracker works as a dog or cat activity tracker, with activity minutes, steps, distance, calorie estimates and goals, plus day and night sleep patterns with vet-designed tips and trends. Dogs also get barking trends, and a Time alone session follows barking and pacing while you are away. The insights are not medical diagnoses and do not replace veterinary care.
